Ok, ok. It’s an inflammatory comment. But in essence they are encouraging the kingship of Obama- yet again. Now the Democrats, in their rapidly accelerating attacks on our Constitution, are encouraging Obama to use the 14 Amendment and simply raise the debt limit ALL BY HIMSELF. Without Congress. Despite the illegality of the matter. And simply because the Democrats & Obama refuse to cut off their credit card. They wish to simply go around the ELECTED Republican House so they can continue their insane spending spree despite the public outcry against it. Here is the 14th Amendment:
Section 4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized
by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for
services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But
neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or
obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United
States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such
debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.
Not being a Constitutional scholar, I attempted to peruse some case law in the matter. The cases I saw tended to apply to Congress’ ability to regulate the U.S. currency, determine the validity of French & English war time banking loans to the South, and slave holding debts. Nowhere did I see any kind of action questioning Congress’ explicit right & duty to pay or not pay its debts. Certainly, I can find no reference that would allow the Executive Office to take this responsibility from Congress and simply assume it for itself. If any constitutional scholar knows more on this matter, I welcome some input here.
What I see, as a simple American, is yet another unbelievable attempt to expand the powers of the Executive Office. Obama has already created ‘Czars’ in opposition to the constitution. He has assumed full control of the military, expressly against the Constitution. He has abused the Constitution in passing Obamacare with a simple majority and in complete secrecy from the American population. He has become a legislator by determining which laws, rightfully passed in the court of law, are ‘constitutional’ and has abused his power by instructing the Department of Justice to ignore the laws he doesn’t agree with. He has refused to protect the integrity of the U.S.A. borders. He has singlehandedly used regulatory bodies to interfere with commerce by determining which companies will receive public funding and which will not. He has done the same with determining which companies will be forced to obey Obamacare and which do not. He has also continued to implement Obamacare laws, despite a court ruling it to be unconstitutional as it allows the Congress to force Americans, against their will, to purchase a product. He has used the Department of the Interior and the Environmental Protection Agency to make laws outside of Congress- laws that have crippled our national security by cutting off the oil supply so desperately needed for our economy. He has abused his position as Executive by single handedly calling on leaders of other countries to step down. The direct result of this action has interrupted USA national security by interrupting the desperately needed foreign oil supply. He has done all this to line the pockets of Progressive Liberals like Al Gore, Pelosi, and no doubt himself who all own ‘green energy’ stock & companies. He misappropriated almost 1 trillion dollars of tax payer money to funnel money directly into the hands of thes same ‘green energy’ cronies.
This is just another method to imbue Obama with kingship. So he can do what he wants- destroy this country in favor of something grander: The new American Union and the Ameridollar-styled after the EU. Why should we even bother with having a Congress anymore? The Congress and the separation of powers were supposed to ensure that the PEOPLE’s will was done. It ensured that we could fire the politicians who refused to do our bidding. Under this new paradigm, however, we can’t even hold our Congressmen responsible for their actions, because they will not have actually taken part.
