Beware the ‘Hebrew Roots Movement’ & the ‘Sacred Name Movement’

hebrewListen. This is important. Don’t read stuff on the internet and automatically believe it. Most information is garbage. This is especially true about Christian writers. Myself included. We are just people. Nothing we say is holy or even close to the correct truth. We are stumbling along just like you. There should not be any such thing as a Christian celebrity. There is only one source for the truth: the BIBLE. That is it. Don’t bother reading crap from famous Christian writers. What do they know?

Some of you put more value into the internet and these people than you do the bible. You will read their books but not the bible. And it is by doing this that you leave yourself wide open to satan’s horrible and super dangerous tricks. The bible has everything you need. Yes, it takes time to read it all. Yes, it takes years and years and years to even begin to be able to have the kind of wisdom it takes to hold it all together as TRUE.  But it is the only way to know God and Jesus.

There are no contradictions in the bible. Thus, if your philosophy- or anyone’s philosophy- doesn’t include all verses as true and logical, then your philosophy or interpretation is wrong; try again. If your philosophy can’t make perfect sense of why two or more verses seem to contradict themselves, then it is you who lack wisdom, not God or the bible. Many people want to avoid the trouble of thinking through all of this. And so, they go to writers like me or others to have them digest it all and give them the Readers Digest version. That is not ok! You will be misled- and if you cling onto someone who works for satan, then your soul is on the line. Just because a preacher said it doesn’t make it good, right or correct in any way. Just because an entire church believes it doesn’t make it true in any way. Millions can believe something and they can (and probably are) wrong! Most of the world rejects Christ- are they right? No, they are wrong. In fact, the very nature of truth is that almost nobody has found it! Thus, why follow the crowd?

Jesus tells us that the crowd is going to hell on a nicely paved highway!  Let that guide your thinking.

I am writing this because I see an incredible danger in the Church. And it is called the ‘Hebrew Roots movement’. It can also be called the ‘Sacred Name Movement’.  These are conservative Christians who have become misled by satan into believing we are all still slaves. They completely ignore Apostle Paul’s warnings and proclamations concerning our complete freedom. These people are first tempted by others who say they have ‘special knowledge’- knowledge unknown to 99% of other Christians. They say that the bible can’t be understood except by knowing Hebrew, Aramaic and ancient Greek. They say that the Sabbath is actually on Sat. and not on Sun.  They say that the name of ‘Jesus’ is evil  (that it is a form of the word, ‘Zeus’) and that if you don’t call God, ‘Yahweh’ and Jesus, “Yeshua”, you are literally sinning.   They say you are pleasing God ‘less’ than if you called him his Hebrew name.  They say that most Christians are blind, but that they are not. They have the secret truth about Jesus.   Is this not tempting?  To be a better Christians than your neighbors?  Yet, what does the bible say about obtaining all this special ‘knowledge’?

“Who is wise and understanding among you? By his good conduct let him show his works in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast and be false to the truth. This is not the wisdom that comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. “ James 3

Meanwhile, these very same people have no idea how to speak Hebrew, Aramaic or ancient Greek! It is laughable. I have spoken Spanish on a regular basis for over 25 years and I can assure you that I can’t really speak Spanish. Learning a few isolated words here and there does not mean you speak the language. It is a joke to believe you do. Language is so much more than understanding isolated words. That is exactly why you can never make a word for word translation between two languages- it is literally impossible. And only satan would try to put that sort of burden on human beings- only satan wants that kind of barrier between a sinner and Jesus.  Wow! One has to learn three ancient languages before they can understand God’s truth????  Impossible! That belief is directly from satan himself.  Don’t become his minion.  God and Jesus both said that they speak the truth openly and simply- that they do not hide anything from us.

“I have not spoken in secret,
from somewhere in a land of darkness;
I have not said to Jacob’s descendants,
‘Seek me in vain.’
I, the Lord, speak the truth;
I declare what is right.”-
GOD in Isaiah 45: 19 {emphasis mine}

Jesus told us that truth would set us free- not enslave us to petty rules and regulations:

31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”Jesus, John 8

Jesus told us that the ability to hear him is based on our knowledge, love and relationship with God, not what language we are speaking:

42Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me. 43Why is my language not clear to you? Because you are unable to hear what I say. 44You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me? 47Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.”- Jesus, John 8

Proverbs 8 makes it clear that wisdom, understanding and truth come through a relationship with God, not through the seeking of pagan knowledge.   The TRUTH of the ages has been written on the hearts of all men.  Truth is not hidden- it is in the light, on top of the highest hill for all to see.   There is no secret.  There is no special knowledge.  God, in his love for us, made it plain as day.  No in-depth study of pagan rites and rituals are necessary for wisdom and a God filled life.  Seek the knowledge of the LORD- in the bible.  Not the nonsensical writings of people on the internet.

Concerning the Sacred Name thing… all I need to say is this:  “Um.  I think God and Jesus are smart enough to know I am calling them.  Jesus knows ALL of me.  He certainly knows when I am calling upon him.  K?”  Jesus said that we know his voice- we know him through relationship, not the technicalities of his name: 14“I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.”  Jesus, John 10

Only SATAN would call the name of ‘Jesus’ EVIL!    Why are these people doing the will of Satan?  For only he wants to call himself ‘good’ and ‘God’ and Jesus, ‘evil’ and less.

saulNow, let’s address this obsession over pagan rites and rituals. Let me tell you something- pagan rites and rituals and ideas DIED a long, long time ago. No one remembers them except a few weirdos in the back woods! Literally! So WHY are these people running around TRYING to re-discover them all?  Why are they poring over the internet looking for ancient pagan, satanic ties to Christian celebrations?   It is as if they WANT pagan knowledge to come back into the world. They have forgotten the most important lesson that Christ told us- evil is what is INSIDE of us- not outside.  God also warned us to NOT seek after evil dark arts.  Apostle Paul was CLEAR on this topic: God is sovereign over all. Since there are no such things as pagan ‘gods’, then there is no such thing as pagan power or influence. He ate meat dedicated to satan and told us we could too. Isn’t that a whole lot worse than looking at a gorgeous tree with presents underneath? He KNEW he was eating meat dedicated to satan. Most Christians don’t even KNOW about ancient pagan rites. Paul told us that it is the conscience within us that determines what is sin. If one eats the meat and knows it is not sinful to do it, he does not sin at all. BUT if one believes it is a sin to eat the meat and does it anyway, then he DOES sin. Thus, without any knowledge of pagan rituals concerning trees, wreaths, Easter egg hunts, etc, THERE IS NO SIN! Ditto for Sunday worship.

THEREFORE, if there is no sin in the hearts of Sunday church goers, Easter egg hunters, Christmas tree lovers, then WHY ARE YOU BOTHERING TO CORRECT THEM????  Furthermore, if these types of things mattered so much to God, you would think he might have mentioned it.  He and Christ IGNORED this type of thing.  In fact, he told us that his sheep know his VOICE!  We know him and he knows us.  The name is not part of that.  It is a relationship that can’t be mistaken.   That is why Christ told us which commandments were the greatest and that ALL others fell under them.  Thus, Christian activity that doesn’t fall under those two things is fruitless endeavor.  It is fruitless to run around correct the names of God and Jesus and it is fruitless to correct people who worship on one day vs. another.  It is fruitless to run around trying to make people learn three ancient languages and it is fruitless to relearn the bible in another language.  All of this distracts from the first and second most important commandments.  Furthermore, why not take that energy and GO TO THE HARVEST FIELD?  Go wash some feet, for goodness sakes!

Only Satan wants to re-introduce pagan ideology back into the social consciousness. Only satan wants to make Christains slaves again. Only satan wants Christians to feel like they are walking on eggshells, terrified that they are sinning without knowledge. Only satan wants some Christians to feel more intelligent, more informed, more righteous than others. Only satan wants to distract from the celebration of Christ’s birth with arguments over stupid things like ancient pagan rituals no one even remembers anymore.

Those who can’t see this reasoning haven’t read or understood the bible AT ALL. You think because you can find a verse somewhere that kinda supports what you are saying that you are doing God’s work. NOT SO! You must read it ALL and then you must set upon the lifetime journey of praying and studying so that you can achieve any level of wisdom. This is YOUR JOB- not the job of others.

loveYOUR JOB is to find God’s truth, not rely on others to do it for you. You will have NO EXCUSE when you see Christ and he tells you that all you did was tear down the joy and worship of others. When he tells you that you stood only to distract others from HIS work! BEWARE and rebuke this movement and everything about it. It is EVIL because it goes against everything Christ taught us. The greatest command is this: LOVE GOD WITH ALL YOUR MIND, HEART AND SOUL. The second greatest is to love your neighbor as yourself. ALL other commands fall under these two. Nothing about legalism and slavery falls under these two. Thus, it is wrong. Plain and simple reasoning.

  1. Short Little Rebel, you need not post this if you don’t want. I understand that I don’ t earn salvation; in fact, never could earn it if I wanted to.
The Yoke of Slavery for me was Sin, and He set me free from that once I truly surrendered to Him.
The Thief on the Cross was saved as soon as he turned to Christ. In Hebrew this is Teshuvah (the turning or repentance). The Thief was saved by turning against the old way, or his former self, and accepting Life Himself on the Cross next to him. I’d hope everyone could hope to attain this kind relief.
I worked in the oil industry, and I was surrounded by young men struggling with every kind of addiction imaginable. I loved sharing my own testamony with them because it brings Hope in Him, and I’d been in the exact same place they were at.
I loathed myself when I was younger, and there was nothing I could do about it on my own.
When I finally gave it to Him, He began to change me from inside out.
This is the Way that I’m talking about, and I’m pretty certain it is the way David expressed in the 119th Psalm.
I can’t vouch for what is going on in all the HMR congregations, but by the same, I cannot vouch for what is going on in the Western Churches. I meet with friends here in Alaska for Bible studies, and many of these have felt something missing in a variety of Churches they’ve attended. Hebrew Roots or Messianic Judaism is what we can relate to as a group, and we are a mix of Jewish and Gentile believers.
Anyway, I submit this in an attempt to explain where I’m coming from.

    • I willingly post it but my opinion is still there. It leads to legalism and to the idea that salvation is earned. It makes slaves of Christians who have been FREED from the Law. But if you enjoy slavery and if it comforts you and keeps you from sinning, then far be it for me to take you from it. But it is not necessary in any Christian’s life. That is my point. Unfortunately, the preachers of this movement don’t teach this. They teach that it IS necessary and they twist Bible verses to suit themselves. But JESUS didn’t follow the Law- he broke it. And that is why the priests wanted to kill him. He WORKED ON THE SABBATH. He made all things very clear and these new priests want to undo what he said and did.

Now, don’t misunderstand me. I’m not saying that our freedoms make us into sinners. I’m saying that we no longer need to obey the Sabbath (go on Sat), not work on that day, celebrate the Jewish festivals, avoid certain foods, etc . But we all understand that we must still be moral- God’s moral code never changes. It is written on the hearts of every man- even the pagans’. Of course, when we allow Christ into our lives, we will become transformed. But what has that got to do with learning Jewish traditions? It doesn’t. That is nonsense. I hope that you don’t get lost in the path you are on. That’s all.

  2. 1 John ch 2: 6 “The one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.”
    Yeshua walked in Torah!

  3. If His Spirit is in us we are no longer of the world, and we should begin to be changed. I had an Orthodox Rabbi tell me I was confused when I told him I saw Messiah all over the Old Testament. I ask you to read the book of Ezekiel because it is very clear what His Kingdom will look like.
I can give you a dozen verses where Yeshua / Jesus tells his followers to do everything the scribes and pharisees tell you from the seat of Moses, and not to neglect the more important aspects of the law while not neglecting the smaller details, but I don’t think these would have any affect.

Do you think a Jew must change and reject everything that he or she has been told about God and what he requires of man if he or she comes to accept Yeshua?

Because this loose conformity that you are proposing is everything that the Jew is warned about in his or her upbringing.
Just accepting Yeshua pretty much brings about a complete rejection from your own relatives and culture; although, not as badly today.

What about the gentile that wants to worship with the Messianic Jew? Should we have seperate houses of worship? I don’t think this is the “one new man” that Paul was talking about.

I was a complete failure at keeping the law before I recieved His baptism. I’d never truly surrendered to God in my 44 years of life. I knew every detail of the law, and was painfully aware of every detail of it that I failed to keep. By His strength I find that I can keep it now, but it has to be all Him through me.

I’m not endorsing Rabbinic Tradition which was added to the Word and frequently people lump in one with the law as given to Moses. But I will say that I bet that there is more tradition in your Church than you may be aware of, and I’m not saying it is all bad, but we have to look at the sources of these traditions.

Salvation is a free gift purchased by Messiah with his blood, but we are called to obedience once we recieve that gift. I don’t know where anyone else is at, but God knows all of us, and there is a walk that should begin when we’ve come to know Him. I wouldn’t bash your walk, but I ask that you please not bash mine!

    • Michael, this isn’t a matter of ‘bashing’. This is a matter of warning and a matter of truth. What you believe is incorrect, factually. And I am so sorry that you are caught up in what is essentially a cult like movement. It is everything I said it is in my article. But, as I said in my comment, it can’t do real harm unless you begin to believe it is necessary in any way for your or anyone else’s salvation. And it is not a matter of you ‘not bashing’ someone else’s ‘walk’. Jesus was not pluralistic in any way. There isn’t multiple ‘walks’ to God. There is only one ‘way’, not ‘walk’. That way is faith in Jesus. Jesus didn’t say he was a ‘walk’. He said he was the ‘way’. The method. The direction. He is not a walk. A walk would denote a rambling, a process. That is not what he is or he would have used a word more like it. He said, I am the WAY, the ONLY WAY. There is NO OTHER WAY. Nothing more is needed. Nothing less is needed. You are in peril of hell if you begin to believe, because of the Hebrew Roots Movement or the Sacred Name Movement, that more is needed other than faith in Christ. I know that the Bible was written to instruct us- that is why Jesus said that not a pen stroke will disappear before he returns. If your understanding of the Bible were true, then how could the thief on the cross have been saved? This is where Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses and other cult like versions of Christianity fall down. They all try to add works to the work of Christ. Then, they can’t figure out how that thief, who did none of the things he should have done, was saved. He was saved by his most simple words of faith- which pleased Jesus.

So, I’m not bashing. I’m informing. And I’m warning. And I’m telling you that as long as you don’t cross that line, you are going to be alright. But the HRM is very deceiving.

  4. Why all the slander towards the HRM? The premise of this movement has been to attain a closer Biblical walk with God that the Western Churches deviated from over 1800 years ago.
The context of Paul’s arguement with those of the Law, or “of the circumcision,” was addressed to Orthodox Jews trying to steal new converts to Messiah by telling them that they need merely obey Jewish Hallakha to be saved.
When you try to use Paul in these passages as saying the Law is done away with, or “nailed to the cross,” you make Paul appear as a major walking contradiction. Most of Western Christendom is based on this Pauline contradiction. When you look at Paul in context with the battle he was engaged with Orthodox Jews who rejected the necessity of Yeshua as Messiah, you’ll understand that Paul was simply making it clear that circumcision and Law did not earn salvation.

Paul repeatedly makes statements like “we establish the Law,” “the Law is our tutor to Messiah,” and “the Law is good and Holy and just.”

Paul kept Torah just as Yeshua did, and he kept it perfectly throughout the Pauline Epistles.

If you’d care to take a closer look at the Bible that we agree should be our sole standard, you’ll see in Colosians ch 2: 11-16 that “…you were ALSO circumcised with a cirmucision made without hands…,””…and when you were dead in your transgressions, and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him…,””…and let no one act as your judge in regards to food or drink or in respect to a feastival, new moon, or Sabbath-day…”; the Colosians were circumcised and practicing Jewish custom, and they were instructed to not let their fellow gentiles judge them!
These passages and many others have been horribly twisted over the years, and it is now tradition in the Western Churches that they imply a completely different meaning. If you dare, look at all the Italacized words in Pauls letters–these words have been inserted into the original Greek; you won’t find this sort of thing in the Tanakh.
Look at the book of Ezekiel and the description of Messiah’s Kingdom to Come–it looks a lot like what Hebrew Roots is simply trying to conform to, and it is much different than conformity to this World, of which I believe many of todays Churches are guilty.
The Word really doesn’t contradict itself; it only appears so when parts of it are taken out of context!

We all need the circumcised heart, and this only comes with the Holy Spirit. By His Spirit we can be obedient in matters that were formerly impossible. It begins with repentance and surrender to Him. When His Love enters in nothing is impossible!

Unfortunately, many folks that have sat in Churches most of their lives have never experienced this–because they’ve been convinced that they don’t need to. I’m not going to try and judge anyone for what they eat, or what day they worship, but there should be growth if we’ve been baptised with His Spirit, and there is a walk that should begin to take place. Don’t bash folks who are walking after the Master!

    • Michael, you are very confused by what Paul had to say, about what Jesus said concerning the Law and about the Bible in general. Those old traditions don’t need to be kept any longer, but I won’t argue with you. The main point is this: That Jesus is your salvation and not these rituals. If you believe that these rituals are REQUIRED in order for you to be saved, then you have denied the blood of Christ and are in danger of hell. But if you do these things simply because they comfort you or because you like them for some reason, then it is nothing. As long as you completely, 100% understand that Jesus, and ONLY Jesus and Jesus 100% is your salvation and that NOTHING ELSE is required but your faith in him, then you are saved. In other words, if you believe that you could do NONE of those things stated in the law but BELIEVE with all your heart that Jesus died for you, took your sins upon himself, was nailed, with your sins, upon that cross, to Die, with your sins, to pay the penalty for your sins, which is death, so that YOU could live an eternal life with him and God the father forever in heaven, then you are free. But if you believe that any of those traditions are REQUIRED, even one, in addition to your faith in Jesus’ work upon the cross, then you are not saved, my friend. Unfortunately, this terrible movement has fooled many good Christians into believing that these things are required.

My greatest problem with it is that it needlessly burdens and condemns Christians and enslaves those who were made free by Christ. But if you and others love your enslavement, then you are free to be slaves. As long as you don’t cross the line and lose your salvation in the manner I just described.

  5. Christianity or Judaism, just stick to wherever you are. A big problem I see in your conversation, though its none of my business, is that you all tried to bring culture in here, “Gospel along with the culture”. So, I think we better stick with the gospel, and not dominating one culture with another in the name of the so called “Truth”.

  6. Short Little Rebel,

you are sticking to a long bred deception - it began in the first century because of different countries' leaders and powerful influences. And in the 325th year the Council of Nicea decided on their own bias that the Jews were evil and to do everything that they could to separate themselves and the Assembly (Which was based in the Jews originally!). So they candy coated so many wicked and evil festivals in the eyes of YaHUaH, and went on to shape the modern day Churchianity that blindfolds the people that have love in their hearts for the Messiah - and lures them into believing tons of ill-willed-based malarkey and encourages them to carry on these erroneous traditions that are extra-strenuous on YaH's word and meaning, robbing the people of His Spirit and Calling. The Messiah (YaHUsha) came for this very reason - to put a stop to forcing traditions onto people; and to free man from all of his iniquities/lawlessness (Ma'asei/Acts 3:26). He even said, "if you love me, keep my commandments," (Yochanon/John 14:15,23, and 15:10). And what is His commandment? Please kindly see Leviticus 23. And of course all of His word, especially Veyiqra/Leviticus which is constantly reminding us that we are to be Set-Apart/Holy as He, YHUH is Set-Apart!

It is a joy to get to know the Hebrew and other languages like Aramaic to understand the idiomatic expressions and phrases of sentence structure as it was preeminently ascribed into the true good word of life. Don’t knock it until you’ve tried it!

Have a great Holiday; Chanukkah was marvelous!

    • Um. Okaaaaayyyyy…. that was about the strangest bit of writing I have read in awhile. However, no matter where you got that bit of text, I can assure you it didn’t come from the Bible. My ‘wisdom’ comes directly from the Bible, which is the ONLY text that matters to Christians. Those who choose to disregard the ONLY text that is written to guide the lives of men and women who wish to obey God and his Son, Jesus Christ, do so at their own peril. There are many, many false Messiahs who will bring new messages and try to teach things that are different from what were taught at the beginning. Judaizers existed almost from the beginning of the Christian church and you, Sir, are most certainly one of them. But you are lost and if you choose to lead others with you, then you will answer to Christ who worked to set people FREE, not bind them back into the shackles of the Law. Sorry.

      • Judaizer? Ju·da·ize (jo͞o′dē-īz′)
        v. Ju·da·ized, Ju·da·iz·ing, Ju·da·iz·es
To bring into conformity with Judaism.
To adopt Jewish customs and beliefs.

So should I consider you anti-semetic? is there something wrong with enjoying the Jewish origins, and seeking the truth of His word? – I my friend, seek His face… and do not rely on others – as you may believe that you are doing. I am attempting to explain to you that you have been lied to. If you want freedom from punishment of a law, then do not break the law. The law is there for a reason, And it shows our obedience when we keep them – it is not a burden, rather a gift!

You may also consider doing a search for “Replacement Theology”

And just because the Messiah makes himself available to you does not mean that you have the right to hate anything ‘Jewish’. Thank you.

      • I don’t hate anything Jewish, even though you would love to make it sound that way. I am telling you that Apostle Paul and the Book of Hebrews made it exceptionally clear that Christ came and made us FREE from the Hebrew laws that 1) had anything to do with sacrifices for sin or atonement 2) had anything to do with ‘clean or unclean’ 3) dietary restrictions 4) circumcision. He didn’t CHANGE these laws. Just as you said. He made it clear he didn’t change a single one of these laws. BUT you always leave out that he said he FULFILLED these laws. He completed them. Furthermore, the Jewish feasts and holidays all reflect the HOPE of the Messiah’s coming- for example: passover. Passover celebrates not only the time that the Angel of Death passed over the Israelites when Pharaoh killed the firstborn of Egypt, but it celebrates the HOPE of the Messiah to come- that death will pass over the Jews again in the life to come. They celebrate Passover in remembrance, but ALSO in the hope of his coming. Why should Christians celebrate in the HOPE of their Messiah coming? He has ALREADY come!! This is WHY we don’t need to celebrate these Jewish holidays. ALL of them are in the HOPE of their Messiah coming. Christian HOPES have all been FULFILLED. To continue hoping for Christ to come for the FIRST time is to negate the fact that he has already come! Isn’t that stupid? Thus, my stand and Apostle Paul’s stand (who wrote MOST of the New Testament) and the Book of Hebrew’s stand, is not out of hatred of all things Jewish, but a logical stand against going back to ‘hoping for Messiah’ and instead, acknowledging he has already come and getting to the work of telling others about it. Judaizers were already in full swing from the very beginning of the church. The Book of Hebrews documents this very clearly. The early Christians were being persecuted and because Christ didn’t come back as soon as they had thought, many were returning to the Jewish traditions- the very ones you want modern Christians to return to. The Book of Hebrews lays out the complete argument WHY THEY SHOULD NEVER DO SO. You, a mere man, together with a bunch of mere men and women, want to oppose the BIBLE, the very Word of God, and tell Christians to do what the Bible tells them not to do. Who do you think you are?

The Bible is the Word of God. You are nothing. The Bible tells us not to return to the Law. Are you God? Are you equal to God in any way? Do you think you have the right to say that part of the Bible isn’t true? No. You are nothing. You are less than a worm compared to God. And yet, you sit there and think you have the authority to supercede the Bible’s teachings? You don’t, in any way. All you do is attempt to fool uneducated and weaker Christians about what Jesus actually meant when he said, “I did not come to change any of the Laws.” and “Obey my commands”. You take that out of context from all that he said, and you refuse to show what Paul said and what the book of Hebrews said. Then, you dare to say, “well, even if Paul or Peter or the Book of Hebrews says one thing and Christ says another, who do you listen to?” But you don’t bother to point out that you just said (without directly saying) that the Bible contradicts itself and you are fine with that. No, the Bible CAN’T contradict itself or it would mean that God isn’t God. He can make mistakes. OR it means he is capricious and cruel to give us contradictions. OR it means he is WEAK and can’t control mankind and what he does to the Word. If God is like that, he wouldn’t BE God. And he certainly couldn’t make the entire universe or a strand of DNA for that matter. And he would NOT be worth worshipping! Either God is God and can make a perfect book or he is NOT God. Either the Bible is all true or it is not true. It is all or nothing. Thus, if it seems like it contradicts itself, the error is due to the human’s frail UNDERSTANDING, not God’s Word, right? Right. Thus, the supposed ‘contradiction’ you have created between Christ saying, “Obey my Command” and Paul saying that we don’t need to obey the Law, that we are FREE from it is in ERROR. YOUR UNDERSTANDING is in error! It is YOU who is wrong, your theory that is wrong. You need to change your ideology in order that BOTH are true at the same time.

Here is the truth: Jesus came in FULFILLMENT of all those laws. He has finished them. He said he didn’t destroy or change them, he FULFILLED them. They are done. Why do more sacrifices when his blood (as described so beautifully in Hebrews) is the BEST SACRIFICE in the universe? No bird, grain or animal can compare. It is good enough for all time for all men forever. He is the final priest, thus there is no need for any priest anymore. get it? He has already passed through the heavenly tabernacle with himself as priest with his own blood, passed through the Holy of Holies, of which the Earthly temple was only a shadow, and did the final and perfect deed which the earlier versions only forshadowed as a HOPE for his coming. Now that the real thing has finally come, the foreshadowing is no longer necessary.

Same for the clean and unclean. Jesus told the Apostles that salvation was for the Gentiles and the Jews. The clean and unclean foods were symbols for the Jew vs. Gentile. God told them no longer to call the Gentile unclean – he used the food items to show it. GOD HIMSELF changed the food requirements. He did this in the book of Peter. Are you saying that the Book of Peter is no longer a part of the Bible? Jesus said that he is a perfect reflection of God. Jesus told us to obey GOD’S commands. He also told us to obey HIS commands. Are you saying that God can’t tell us what to do whenever he feels like it? Paul explains very well in his letters that God used the LAW NOT to save mankind, but to CURSE mankind. To teach us that we are SINFUL. He said that to live by the by the LAW is to be CURSED by the law. Are you, a mere human, going to say that Paul’s New Testament writings are not a part of the Bible too? Who do you think you are? You are a mere Worm. Oh, that is what God called men. In the Old Testament, by the way. You know, the Testament that you so love? I love the Old Testament too. But the Old Testament says everything the New Testament says too. But you don’t have eyes to see it. And in it’s pages, God calls man a ‘WORM’ several times. So, I’m not insulting you any more that God does. You are a mere WORM trying to say that all the words in the New Testament AREN’T TRUE! That YOU and a few other WORMS know better!!?? geeze. You make me slam you to the ground. You really do.

The LAW was given, according to Paul, to teach generations of mankind that they COULDN’T obey it! Get that? They COULD NOT POSSIBLY obey it. It is impossible. period. To attempt to live by it is to curse yourself to DEATH and hell. It is misery in a box. In order to live by it, you would have to remain at the Temple day and night and never leave. You would daily, hourly, give sacrifices. You would never leave prayer. You would lay down on your face forever and never leave- such is the burden of sin you carry and such is the burden of the Law that God gave to Man. According to Paul, who wrote MOST OF THE NEW TESTAMENT, the entire REASON God gave us the Law was simple: to teach mankind once and for all that we are SINFUL beyond self redemption. That we, no matter how willing and well meaning, can’t save ourselves by good works, prayers or sacrifices. Period. God did NOT give the Law to save us or to redeem us to him or to please him in any way. For this, he waited until the world was READY, and according to Paul in Galatians 4 (among MANY other chapters & verses),

1What I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. 2The heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. 3So also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forcesa of the world. 4But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.b 6Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba,c Father.” 7So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.

        Paul’s Concern for the Galatians

8Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. 9But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forcesd ? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? 10You are observing special days and months and seasons and years! 11I fear for you, that somehow I have wasted my efforts on you.

12I plead with you, brothers and sisters, become like me, for I became like you. You did me no wrong. 13As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you, 14and even though my illness was a trial to you, you did not treat me with contempt or scorn. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself. 15Where, then, is your blessing of me now? I can testify that, if you could have done so, you would have torn out your eyes and given them to me. 16Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth?

17Those people are zealous to win you over, but for no good. What they want is to alienate you from us, so that you may have zeal for them. 18It is fine to be zealous, provided the purpose is good, and to be so always, not just when I am with you. 19My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you, 20how I wish I could be with you now and change my tone, because I am perplexed about you!

        Hagar and Sarah

21Tell me, you who want to be under the law, are you not aware of what the law says? 22For it is written that Abraham had two sons, one by the slave woman and the other by the free woman. 23His son by the slave woman was born according to the flesh, but his son by the free woman was born as the result of a divine promise.

24These things are being taken figuratively: The women represent two covenants. One covenant is from Mount Sinai and bears children who are to be slaves: This is Hagar. 25Now Hagar stands for Mount Sinai in Arabia and corresponds to the present city of Jerusalem, because she is in slavery with her children. 26But the Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother. 27For it is written:

        “Be glad, barren woman,
        you who never bore a child;
shout for joy and cry aloud,
        you who were never in labor;
because more are the children of the desolate woman
than of her who has a husband.”e
28Now you, brothers and sisters, like Isaac, are children of promise. 29At that time the son born according to the flesh persecuted the son born by the power of the Spirit. It is the same now. 30But what does Scripture say? “Get rid of the slave woman and her son, for the slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with the free woman’s son.”f 31Therefore, brothers and sisters, we are not children of the slave woman, but of the free woman.”

You see that he is addressing Judaizers exactly like you who were then trying to make Christians return to the festivals and the Law. Stop trying to infiltrate Christian Churches. YOU are an anti-Christ and nothing less. Shame on you. And be gone in Jesus’ Name.

  7. Good points, but I think your just as wrong as the Sacred Name Movement in that you believe in someone who can’t historically be proven. There is no Historical Jesus. With that being said, it would be better for all people who believe in the scriptures to stick with the Tanakh, or Old Testament, since it is the NT that stirs controversy. We just need to follow the righteous government given to mankind, a righteous covenant that shows us how to walk righteously. Just my opinion…

    • “There is no historical Jesus” really? I don’t know what to say to you, but you can’t be more historically….um… inaccurate. And just because something is controversial doesn’t mean we just dump it. If we did that, we wouldn’t even be a nation. WE used to be controversial, right?

  8. “Beware of HRM! Beware of our Fathers true name! Do not study the literal translation of scripture! Do not study the strongs concordance! Do not even peak at the Dead Sea scrolls! Do not compare the Septuagint! Do not study too hard into the old testament it is all abolished! The scribes have never lied, every translation of the bible is correct even though they do not match up. Follow the herd! Do not step out! Do not find the truth! Follow as a sheep blindly to the slaughter! Do not work out your salvation with fear and trembling! Do not test everything to be sure that is is correct!” said our Creator, NEVER.

    The anti Christ= LAWLESSNESS.
Professing to be wise they became FOOLS….

  9. Yes, Thank you for this! Something was just “off” with this whole Yeshua/Torah/Christmas and Ham hater thing. This movement is becoming huge. (yes, pun is intended) I knew there was something wrong with it but I couldn’t put my finger on it. I loved what you quoted about the sheep knowing the Shepherd’s voice. I have not felt convicted of celebrating Christmas. I have definitely been convicted of certain aspects of it….. like lying to my child about a fictional omnipotent being that lives above us (north pole) or that creepy little demonic elf on a shelf thing. But we have a tree, we sing carols, we open presents, and we love the Christmas Season.

  10. WOW! Thank you so much for this. I have been reading a lot about this movement and have started to doubt myself and my relationship with JESUS. I needed to read this and the scripture quoted. God lead me to this sight! Thank you again!

    • You are welcome. Don’t doubt yourself. This is one of those great deceits we will see in the end days. This is a return to the Law- it is an attempt to obliterate the sufficiency of Christ’s death and resurrection.

  11. Loved this article. Watched Kirk Cameron’s saving Christmas last week with the family. Touched on some of what you wrote about. Have you seen the movie? Thank you so much cute lady! 🙂

    • If you take your cues from Kirk Cameron, you have big trouble coming. Kirk thinks Halloween is a great idea for Christians, and you know about all his false pre-trib rapture movies. That’s the deception. There are many Holy Names believers, and although there a a few splinter cults and heretics, they are not UNDER the law, they are under grace. They keep the law because even the early Church kept the law. Christ FULFILLED the law, not abolished it. Big difference. If you read Jeremiah 10, I think you’d have a hard time ever putting up a pagan Odin/Nimrod tree ever again. And Santa Claus is Satan Claus, he is omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipowerful, do you not see the ‘highjack’, the deception of Satan to blend the pagan right into the holy days. (Not to mention Yahshua was born most likely in September, but if you knew the real reason Dec. 25th is picked, it would nauseate you.)

      • Rebecca, I think you missed out on my point. I have no problem whatsoever with Halloween or Christmas trees or Dec. 25th. It is almost always the Sacred Roots movement people who are skittish about such things. Christ redeems all. God sees our hearts. Where there is no evil, there is no evil. Paul showed us this with the ‘tainted’ meat that had been sacrificed to the pagan gods. They knew it had been sacrificed. In the case of Christmas trees and Dec. 25th, no one except those who look for evil. I know that the rumors concerning the trees are nonsense and highly suspect most of the other information. In any case, most people have no inkling about any of it and thus, can’t possibly contain evil in their hearts as they use them or celebrate the birth of Christ with them. Therefore, there is no evil. So, who cares? As to pre-trib notions, I would not go as far as to say it is unbiblical to believe in that. I would simply say that there is no guarantee given. I WISH and hope it is true, but I would never teach it as a solid promise. To do that would indeed be a false teaching.

  12. SLR-
What happened to your website? Were u forced to make another? Having trouble navigating, etc.

Have u been quiet for while?

Anyway, very nice pic of you btw-

    • Hi Naked, no, I voluntarily changed it. I was sick of the old look. I know the navigation could use some work. But there is a little (+) sign in the upper right and a menu button on the upper left. Just hover your mouse there and you will see them. I love the look of this new format- but the ‘clean lines’ are SO clean that you can’t see the important stuff very well! lol. Hope that helps.
